The widows of Kenya are an ever-growing crisis. Their husbands are dying and leaving them with no money, no business, and many children to care for. Rather than supporting a widow with monthly finances and thereby enabling her, it is better to teach her a trade or help her to start a business. This in turn gives her self worth as she will be able to provide for her own children. Widows Micro Business Project would first identify cases of true widows in need, having children and the ability to effectively run a micro business. She would then be connected through Transformed International with a partner overseas who is willing to financially assist her in beginning her business. Transformed staff members would provide assistance in start up and training in business management, financial record keeping and savings plans. Transformed will also provide financial accountability and reports for the first year of the business.
The donor will receive a semi-annual updates and picture of the project for the first two years of the projects operation.
