Hope Bright Future Children's Home
Hope Bright Future Children’s home was started a few years ago by a Kenyan woman who kept coming across orphan children who had no place to go and no one to feed them. This Kenyan woman used all that she had and build a primary school with mud walls. Her desire was to provide education to the community children at a low cost while using any profits to support the orphan children. She succeeded and took in 12 orphan children. In May 2006, a team from Transformed International heard about this woman and her orphans. What TI found was a brilliant attempt to care for these children but a lack of money had put the children in a sorry state. The 8 girls slept in one small room with one bed. Only three could fit in the bed. The others slept on a mud floor with no mattress and no blankets, only a potato sack to crawl into. What is more, when it rained outside, the rusted roof could not keep the water out. Half of the children where very sick and malnourished. The team from Transformed swiftly moved and found a half acre plot with a larger mud house for the children to live in. They are currently renting this plot with the intent to buy it early next year. Also, beds, mattresses and blankets where bought for the children. The children’s health quickly improved as a new hope was placed before them. Two months later, TI and friends from Reno, Nevada bought a milk cow for the home. Early November a new roof was put on the kitchen. It is the desire of Transformed International to find a sponsor for each of these children in order to provide a better life for them. The money will be used for food, medical care, further education and clothing for these children. |

Milimani Group |
Elizabeth is the widowed mother of 6 biological children and 4 orphaned children. She has been living in her small mud house trying to care for her family with a meager income of $10 a month. Thanks to friends from Texas, she is now receiving food monthly for her family through Transformed International. Also, most of the children are being supported in primary school. A long term plan is being developed for Elizabeth to assist her to become fully self supporting through a micro business. (Not all children are pictures as some were in school during the time of this picture) |
